Mina Foundation

From period poverty to period positivity: making periods part of the conversation and not the reason to sit it out. Our partnership with the Mina Foundation is helping us change how menstruation is understood and experienced in sport. Instead of treating it as something to hide or work around, we’re creating open, honest spaces where girls can talk about their periods, access reusable menstrual cups and stay physically active without fear or shame.

Mina doesn’t come in with assumptions - they listen, respond, and meet girls where they are. This year, we worked together to host a Rugby Girls Festival during Women’s Month - a space to celebrate young athletes and continue normalising menstrual health in sport. The event also marks the lead-up to the Women’s Rugby World Cup in September, placing our girls on a global timeline.

This partnership is about keeping girls in the game; with knowledge and the confidence to play on any day of the month. This partnership is about keeping girls in the game with knowledge and the confidence to play on any day of the month. It also speaks to a broader reality: too many young athletes miss training or competition because of period stigma or lack of access to safe products. By placing menstrual health at the centre of our work, we are addressing one of the silent barriers to participation and showing that dignity in sport starts with meeting basic needs.
